Q: Image size best practices and Preference center customization
Hi, I have three questions and would really appreciate your help, as I haven’t received a reply through the contact form yet.
I’m having some trouble with images in Acumbamail. When the image is too small, white margins appear on both sides in the email. But when I use larger images, they take noticeably longer to load during tests. Could you please clarify the recommended image size in terms of DPI and file size (KB/MB)? I understand the width should be 600px, but would love more detailed guidance.
Second - Is it possible to customize the preference center for one of my accounts? Ideally, I’d like subscribers to choose which types of emails they want to receive and/or have the option to pause emails for 60–90 days instead of fully unsubscribing.
Also, can I dynamically pull email address from company website to add it to the footer?

Jul 10, 2025A: Hello,
Hi, thank you for reaching out, and I’m happy to help with your questions!
- Image Sizes in Acumbamail:
You're absolutely right that the recommended width for email images is 600px. For best results, we recommend using images at 72 DPI (standard for web) and keeping the file size under 1 MB—ideally between 100–300 KB to balance quality and loading speed. Large images can slow down email load times, especially on mobile, so optimizing your images using tools like TinyPNG or ImageOptim can help.
- Customizing the Preference Center:
Yes, it’s possible to customize the preference center! You can allow subscribers to select the types of emails they want to receive (e.g., newsletters, promotions, updates) through list segmentation or automation workflows to simulate a pause in sending.
- Dynamically Pulling Email Address to Footer:
Currently, Acumbamail doesn’t support dynamically pulling an email address from a company website into the footer. You’ll need to manually include your contact details in the email template.
I hope it helps. We're here to help.
Regards,
Thank you! Can you please let me know where do I go in order to start with the preference center creation? Do I use surveys, landing page/forms perhaps? Not sure how does this work in Acumbamail.
Once that's created, will I be able to segment out those people who've decided they only want the promotional email (for example) and manually exclude them from future non-promotional emails?
