Non existent support + low open rates
After using Acumbamail, for 1.5 years - it is 1 taco from us and a refund request.
Unfortunately, I have to confirm the concerns of other reviewers:
1. The support is indeed not responsive. For example, at the moment, we have not heard back from the support team for over 20 days now, despite using email and chat options and sending multiple follow-ups.
2. Open rates are indeed very low - I have by now moved most of my email volumes to other providers. Using the same campaigns and the list of opted-in recipients, the open rates on Acumbamail were at least 3x lower.
3. In 1.5 years, we have not seen any improvements being made to the platform. We asked for clarifications in the beginning, but with no answers, you are just left to figure the unintuitive UX/UI by ourselves. To be constructive, we have also sent our suggestions and feedback during this time, but naturally, we have not heard back.
When they relaunched the deal now, we thought there would be some improvements that would be made prior / after it, but no. If we could refund all the money we spent on this deal, we would, but we can only refund the upgrade.

Disturbing: Accumba Mail 27, Mailchimp 527 - Same Sanitized List, Same Newsletter
On the surface, Acumbamail looks like the package: newsletters, landing pages, 800+ templates, SMS, detailed reports, etc.
But it did not take me long to notice a very low open rate. So, I decided to make sure everything was tidy on our end and then run a test.
The results are disturbing.
One of our lists has 1,000 subscribers, which I had sanitized with Mailchimp and Reeon. The list was solid. It was a total opt-in organizational email, as good as it gets. The newsletter has been published for several years, and we have not had a single spam complaint.
I ran it through Accumbamail first, followed by Mailchimp a day later.
After two days:
Accumbamail sends have 27 opens.
Mailchimp has 527 opens.
If you filter the reviews to read 1-3 taco ratings, you will find plenty of similar experiences of low rate opening. You'll see it mentioned in enough 4 and 5 taco ratings but many of those forgot to change the taco rating down, or were new and hopeful it would pan out over time. It does not. I have had Acumbamail for 10 months.
I recently doubled my subscription through Appsumo, but I will refund that part. Buying extra doesn't bring many added advantages, and those people will not likely be reached.
Too many people buy a product and immediately offer worship and praise in the form of a great review after only a few days, if not on the day of the purchase. That is a disservice to everyone: to Appsumo customers, who rely on other people's evaluation, the vendor who is usually in a stage where honest input could lead to a breakthrough, and to Appsumo, whose reputation hangs in the balance.
I am sure Acumbamail will respond with some excuse or perhaps point the finger at me for being a spam risk or something of the sort. That seems to be the pattern with responses. But the fact is, there is something seriously wrong when it fails tests like the one I just performed, and so many other people over the years have made the same complaints.
And since those complaints go way back to former campaigns, there is probably zero chance that Acumbamail will ease up on its customers any time soon. My advice to others: 1) Don't buy this, and 2) If you have, test it soon so you can get your refund before the 60 days expire.

It was really easy for me to set this up for my business. I was initially worried I would have difficulty however their step by step videos and excellent customer service, set up was a breeze. The templates are also super useful to hit the ground running. This is a no brainier.
