Awesome, easy, no brainer!
Looking for images for your next blog post, Youtube thumbnail or book cover? This is a great way to make it happen!
Dalle-2 is an amazing AI algorithm to generate images, and Airbrush uses is it to a great effect.
It is easy to use, simple and effective, and I have recommended to several people already.
A few things I would suggest for you to try out:
- Use the Dall-E 2 AI engine if you want to be blown away. The Stable Diffusion gives some OK images, but it is not great, specially for fancier ideas.
- Play around with words and phrases. Describe what you want in the image.
- Generate more than one image with the same description. Each generated image is unique, so, it is worth to experiment.
- Use the image upscaler to make your image 3000x3000 pixels, making it easier to use it in blogs and book covers
A few issues:
- The interface is simple, maybe towards the simplistic side. Lots of room to improve in the future;
- The upscaler tool should allow to just upscale an image from the History, or even upload it from your computer... The way it is now, you need to have the image available in a URL online. Makes zero sense.
- Sometimes when an image is generated, it also generates another, totally random image, that is added to the history. This is clearly a bug. I have several of those images that include pictures of houses, people and a train, that dont even look generated. I can delete them, but they just show up out of nowhere. It seems it only happens when using the Stable Diffusion algorithm.
- There is no way to by more credits... I would expect that to be the case, since I can see myself burning through the ~50 Dall-e 2 images per month. After all, generated images are unique, so, there is a big chance that you will have to generate a few images before you arrive at something you like.
One thing I think they could really improve is the number of credits for the image. The site for Dall-e 2 (OpenAI) gives you 15 image credits for free every month. In this deal, Airbrush gives us 500 credits. It looks much better for Airbrush, right? But (1) 1 OpenAI credit = 10 Airbrush credits (so, Airbrush gives you 50 Dall-e 2 images, still better than 15), but (2) Every credit in OpenAI site generates 4 image options, and you can choose the best one. You would have to generate a few of images in Airbrush to choose, so, in the end, they offer similar number of images, making this deal a little less attractive.
- That said, the Stable Diffusion algorithm is just 1 credit, giving you up to 500 images a month, what is huge.
Anyway, I think that for the price this is a no-brainer, I acquired it right away, and several of my friends already did the same. I'm sure they will improve the interface, so, I'm considering this an awesome deal!
