ByDesign is an all-in-one digital planner

ByDesign is an all-in-one digital planner that brings together fast task management, easy calendar syncing, habit tracking, and note-taking in a clean interface. Its strength lies in how quickly you can create and manage tasks and how well these connect to Google or Outlook calendars. Notes support markdown, and the built-in habit tracker and dashboards help you keep everything organised.

ByDesign is especially useful if you already use Notion and need something to fill the gaps—such as real-time calendar sync and better task management. The platform is customisable, with collaborative workspaces for teams, and the developer is actively improving features based on user feedback.

While some features—like flexible table tags and advanced filtering—are still being developed, ByDesign is developing quickly, with regular support and updates. It's not meant to replace heavy database apps like Notion but rather to complement them.

Compared to pricey subscription tools, ByDesign’s lifetime deal is excellent value. It’s ideal for users overwhelmed by multiple apps or professionals wanting a reliable, flexible digital planner.

I just bought it and I already love it!!

I just bought it and honestly, I'm in love with it. It’s super easy to use, really colorful, and just makes sense. There’s pretty much no learning curve—I figured it out right away. Plus, it connects with my Google Calendar, so now I actually remember what I’m supposed to do.

If you want a to-do list that works with Google Calendar, is simple, and helps you actually get your life together, you should try this. Seriously, don’t miss out.

Go get it!

Send an email to create a task and Monthly View

I don't usually write reviews, but for Bydesign, I am compelled. to. This app is on the right track. With some user feedback and targeted development, it could be even better. It already includes my two most requested features found in similar apps: the ability to send emails directly to the app’s inbox and a comprehensive monthly calendar view. These two features alone make this app awesome!! This is a keeper for me. I have already suggested some new features in the Roadmap (and they have a great one), and hopefully, this app becomes my daily driver. Highly recommend.

The missing piece of my productivity puzzle

I've tried... pretty much everything in the project management and and PKM realms. My ADHD requires me keep everything written down or nothing's going to get done.

After trying everything twice, I settled on Notion. It was almost perfect — except for day-to-day task management. Trying to get tasks from different databases in sync with my Google calendar has been a full-time job, and finally resulted in me resorting to Make to keep everything in sync. So much for increasing my productivity.

I initially dismissed ByDesign as a Notion knock-off that wouldn't give me the flexibility I already had in Notion. I'm so glad I gave it another shot, because it actually solves my Notion problems in an elegant way.

ByDesign isn't a Notion replacement, and it's not trying to be. It lacks database functionality, but it does make it easy to link tasks back to my Notion databases, and its integration with Google seems to work well. It's solved about 90% of my headaches (maybe more; I haven't dug into its advanced functionality yet). It's not ever going to be an all-in-one product for me, but as a Notion supplement, it's fantastic.

The price isn't as low as some deals we've seen, but I think that speaks to the fact that the developers are looking towards long-term stability, which I appreciate. This one really has the potential to become one of those deals you can't imagine having missed; I have a handful of apps from AppSumo that have changed my day-to-day workflow and I can really see this being one of them.

ByDesign is actively in development, as well, with a robust roadmap of planned improvements. If you're looking for a well-designed, clean interface for project management, it's definitely worth checking out.

Too little of a good thing?

I like this tool, I do. I think there is a lot of value in it as a V1 product. I used it for several days, and the support team is working on it, having fixed a bug over the weekend.

I think, honestly, that it is just too few features right now. What made this tool great was that it wasn't feature-bloated. But you can have too little of a good thing. I think it's worth getting it, as I'm sure it will improve as they develop the tool. I'm not sure if I can use it on a day-to-day basis as I initially thought.

But it's not a bad tool! It's great! Just need to see more!

Updating my horrible grammar.... :)

Hey Dale! You're awesome, and we really appreciated your help fixing the bug. We're rushing to add the right features as quickly as we can, but as you mentioned, we need to be really careful not to diminish the flexibility and simplicity of the app. Wish there was a way to get this review to 5 stars, but as more features will take some time, I'm guessing that a "no"? ;) Also - please make sure to...
