Canyon is praised for its user-friendly interface, AI-enhanced resume editing, and responsive support. However, some users have experienced issues with AI repetitiveness and limited resume sections. Despite this, Canyon offers a promising all-in-one job application platform. With a 60-day money-back guarantee, it's worth giving Canyon a try for seamless job application management.

I TRIED to like this, but the resume writer is JUST TERRIBLE!
The resume writer is awful. I TRIED to make it work using it's LIMITED features, but it managed to turn my resume into something I CANNOT present to any potential employer.
The resume builder lacks functionality readily available in other similar platforms (LiveCareer)
In LiveCareer for example, I have the choice of the following sections:
- Languages
- Certifications
- Accomplishments
- Website, Portfolios, Profiles
- Affiliations
- Interests
- References
- Volunteer Work
- Projects
LiveCareer also gives you the option to ADD YOUR OWN section if the resume section options or the preformatting restrictions of certain sections do not suit you.
Canyon on the other hand has ZERO flexibility in it's resume writer leaving you stuck trying to jam a square peg into a round hole and even then it falls short. The certifications section for example seems to REQUIRE a date and if you don't enter one in it will "kindly" stick on in for you. I added all of my certifications and they DO NOT appear on the resume and there appears to be no mechanism to publish them to the resume.
As another reviewer pointed out, the scoring seems off. After working on tweaking and perfecting my resume, LiveCareer scores my resume at 100%, but Canyon only gives that same resume a 73%. LiveCareer will at least provide me with an overview explaining my resume score so I can edit and improve it. I don't know what the basis is for the score in Canyon so that I might improve it. The number is seemingly random.
I haven't tried the the job application tracker, cover letter generator, or mock interview tool because I cannot create a decent resume using this tool. I like the idea of having a central location for my resume, cover letter and job applications. I like the IDEA of an autofill Chrome plugin tool. All of these reasons are why I was so hopeful for this tool. I will do some more testing, but I'm not expecting to see any remarkable improvement. Alas I think I'm seeing a refund request in my future.

Want to like it but ...
First, the resume builder does not allow you to add free-form sections. Well, OK.
Next, the scoring seems off. I use Hyrerite which scores my resume at 86%, but Canyon only gives it a 63%. Mostly it seems to be overly picky about word count and number of bullet points. Ok, I could live with that.
I wanted to use it to create a resume with keywords from a job listing and tailor a new resume for that position. It does this ... sort of. But it stuffs all the keywords into the summary only. So the generated resume looks kind of spammy.
What I'd suggest Canyon do, is make a few videos on how to use the product, so we can see and understand the intended user journey. It might be a good product for customizing resumes. But it's hard to understand how to use it.
The way I think it could work is, make a basic resume, find a job, let Canyon make an updated version with AI that adds some suggestions to the experience section of the resume. Then let you edit and save that.
Two other annoyances, uploading my PDF resume in the resume builder failed everytime. And I cannot download the resumes in PDF, or any other format.
I hope they fix these things so I can keep this. Just not working for me yet.

Dec 3, 2024Hey Wonka,
What do you mean it does nothing on Linkedin? Are you not able to add jobs via the chrome extension?
Also, have you taken a look at our resume builder, job application tracker, cover letter generator, mock interview tool?
Thank you

Still very clunky and has a number of problems making it difficult to work with
Resume builder reduced scoring for a job after asking for it to enhance my resume via AI.
The software is not yet there to make resumes into something stronger, I would say if you are hoping to find something that you will put in more work than previously, because you also need to check over the resume that the AI gives you. In my case, the Canyon also started to hallucinate new educational experiences I had.

Canyon Could Be Your New Favorite Job and Resume Tracker
What Makes Canyon Stand Out?
Easy to Use
First off, Canyon is incredibly user-friendly. Whether you’re just starting out or have a couple of years under your belt, its intuitive interface makes it easy to get up and running in no time. No more wrestling with complicated setups or spending hours on tutorials – Canyon gets straight to the point.
Decent AI Capabilities
Canyon offers some pretty decent AI features that can make writing specific resume content much smoother.
Areas for Improvement
Now, let’s keep it real – no tool is perfect, right? While I’m loving what Canyon brings to the table, there are areas where it could shine even brighter.
Robustness of AI
I’ve noticed that sometimes the AI can be a bit repetitive. It gets the job done but leaves room for improvement in terms of versatility and depth. Imagine if it could learn and adapt more dynamically – now that would be something!
White Label Version
Here’s an idea that could take Canyon from good to great: offering a White Label version! This feature would allow business owners within the AppSumo community to manage their clients seamlessly. Think about how cool it would be if you could customize and brand this amazing tool as your own?
Higher Priced Tier 2 for Businesses
If they roll out this White Label version (fingers crossed!), having another higher-priced Tier 2 aimed at AppSumo business owners would make perfect sense. It’d offer additional functionalities tailored specifically for business needs.
Why You Should Consider Keeping Canyon for Personal Use
Despite some limitations, I’m keeping Canyon as part of my personal toolkit because it works well for my needs. I like the idea of having a central location for my resume, cover letter and job app items.
Final Thoughts
Good idea to give Canyon a try. It might just become your new favorite tool in no time. And hey, who knows? With continuous improvements and potential new features on the horizon, we might see even more reasons to love it soon.
