Q: Support Delay Is KILLING My Store — Can Someone Please Confirm What Works with Shopify?

I’ve been trying to set up CloudFilt CDN/WAF with my Shopify store, and I’m running into persistent 502 errors despite following instructions.

My storefront has been down for over 48 hours, and I’ve received only delayed responses (10–24 hrs apart) through the "live" chat. The support team’s most recent reply simply re-stated earlier instructions, despite my having followed them exactly.

I truly want this to work and am excited by the promise of your tool—but I need confirmation and assistance ASAP.

Can you please:

* Confirm whether CloudFilt actually works with standard Shopify (non-Plus) stores using only CDN/WAF and DNS changes?

* Provide clear, specific steps if something else needs to be done to restore functionality?

A: Hello, Thank you for your message.

CloudFilt is compatible with Shopify Plus, which allows personalized management of SSL certificates and direct integration of our CDN/WAF.

However, standard Shopify (non-Plus) requires Shopify to exclusively manage SSL certificates, preventing direct interposition of our CDN/WAF. This limitation causes the persistent 502 errors you are experiencing.

To quickly restore your store, we recommend temporarily pointing your DNS back to Shopify to avoid these errors. Our team can then assist you in finding the best possible configuration for your setup.

This limitation comes from Shopify, not our solution, which remains fully functional in compatible environments.

We understand the urgency and are available to assist you personally via email or live chat.

Thanks for getting back to me. My biggest issue is how it has taken CloudFilt so long to give me even this basic answer. And it hasn't even come via the live chat or email, where I asked specifically about this. Repeatedly. At this point, I have very low confidence in receiving this "assistance" in any sort of timely manner.

Also, this is exactly the sort of information that should be disclosed upfront. I asked about this in this Q&A days ago. If your service is incompatible with non-Plus Shopify plans, that’s not a small footnote—it’s a critical limitation. I’ve now had over two days of total storefront downtime as a result of trusting a system that promised Shopify integration.

OK very useful to know this is a limitation ('can only be used on shopify plus accounts') if this were to be used on the Shopify platform.

Not a good look on CloudFilt to have not provided or made clear this issue at the outset.
