Avoid at All Costs – Buggy, Incomplete Software and Nonexistent Support
I’ve been in eCommerce for years, and I can honestly say that Dokan Cloud has been one of the most frustrating and costly experiences I’ve ever had with a SaaS product. What seemed promising at first turned out to be a deeply flawed and incomplete platform, with basic features either missing, broken, or misrepresented, and customer support that is, quite frankly, useless.
Here’s just a small sample of the major issues I encountered (which have already cost me over $5,000 in wasted time and labor):
CSV Upload is Broken
All products uploaded via CSV are automatically set to "Draft" with no option to publish in bulk. I uploaded over 36,000 products and now face the impossible task of publishing each one manually. After three weeks of back-and-forth with customer support and multiple tickets, there’s still no solution. I even managed to get on a video call – they promised to “look into it” and never followed up.
No Way to Update Products via CSV
Most platforms use SKU as the anchor for product updates – not Dokan. Their system simply duplicates products, making it impossible to maintain or update your catalog without creating a mess. For any serious seller, this is a dealbreaker.
False Advertising – Bulk Updater is Useless
They claim to offer a bulk updater, but it only works on 15 products at a time, and you still have to manually edit each one. It’s not a bulk updater – it’s just a filtered manual editor. This is incredibly misleading.
URL Slug Column Doesn’t Work
The CSV column meant to set custom URL slugs is completely non-functional. This was a key part of our SEO strategy and now, thanks to Dokan, we’re stuck with a site full of default, unoptimized URLs.
Broken Sitemaps = Google Penalty
Their GA4 integration might technically “connect,” but your product sitemap won’t work. As of this writing, the category sitemap was only fixed after three weeks of pushing, and the product sitemap is still broken. This means any live site using Dokan will be penalized by Google, crippling visibility before you even begin.
Customer support is simply for show. You’ll wait weeks, open multiple tickets, and still get no resolution. Even if they fix a bug weeks later, it won’t help if your catalog is already uploaded, because there is no reliable way to edit or update listings in bulk.
This platform may work if you're only uploading 10 products and don’t care about SEO, but for any serious store owner, Dokan Cloud is a disaster. I strongly urge anyone considering this product to look elsewhere. The time, money, and stress this platform caused me was not worth it.
