Q: Emails for notifications & candidate communications : Can we send using my SMTP
Could you confirm if we ( including our clients), send Emails for notifications & candidate communications using our SMTP. Or is it mandatory to use SendGrid that you offer (Sendgrid is paid plan). if this is the only way, are you looking to integrate other products in future. I read that you decided not to go on Acumbamail . How how Maileroo ? Can I use Maileroo ? Do you have any email. Will dropboard name be seen as sender of these mails ?

Apr 30, 2025A: Hi there! You can be the sender on outbound emails to clients and candidates by using one of our supported email providers: Amazon SES, Postmark, or SendGrid: https://help.dropboardhq.com/article/66-custom-email-senders By doing this, Dropboard's name will be entirely omitted from sent emails.
Unfortunately we don't support SMTP right now. All emails to candidates will be from this one custom email sender, so at this time clients cannot customize the email sender.
how about my clients. will their mail go from their custom domain or my domain email id ? should my clients also set up a separate amazon s3 email id ? please provide a clear response before as the deal ends today. Probably your responses are without understanding what an agency might want.
If you set up a custom email sender, all emails from your account or clients under your account will go out under that one sender.
I'm sorry if this doesn't address your use case. This is something we may offer in the future, but for right now this is how the feature works.
Thanks for responding . Because if we get the white label and give a dashboard to clients as a backend . Since they can embed iframe , clients / recruiters can operate in their own brand name for frontend . That’s a plus . portal with my brand at a backend is fine . Client emails from my smtp would discourage my clients to sign up. Can you pls find a way for clients & myself to use own smtp
I certainly understand that and we have this on our roadmap for future consideration. For now Dropboard has one email sender, whether that be from our system or one you customize.

Custom SMTP is a MUST. What sense does it make to send or receive emails from senders you don't relate to? Do you even open such emails from unknown senders yourself, Colin? This kind of emails will even hurt our and your own sender reputation. This should be fixed ASAP or a else great product becomes useless and therefor worthless.
While we don't support custom SMTP servers, we fully support custom email senders via SendGrid, Postmark, and Amazon SES. That means your brand can take 100% ownership of the email sending piece so that there are no unknown senders (emails will go out from your email address not Dropboard's).
