It's good and getting better!

Expense Monkey is very well designed and user friendly.
Support has been amazing!

The core functionality is in place, but keep in mind, it is still being developed which means that they are actively building/releasing new features so it will only get better from here. The update/founder section on the deal page is very transparent that they are here for feedback to learn about the different use cases to help shape the future of Expense Monkey. So if you have an issue or feature request, reach out to their support team!

Is the app perfect? Not yet. But it is very usable, looks great, and is being improved constantly.
Personally, EM doesn't have everything I need just at the moment, but based on the amazing support and upcoming feature releases, I am happy to stay on to support the development.
I have reached out to them on a few separate occasions with issues and questions. I received responses to all my emails on the same day! In addition, I had two feature requests. One was implemented within a week, the second one was implemented within a FEW HOURS! Their support has been nothing short of amazing.
So to the user j846 below who mentioned not getting a response from the webapp, I would suggest reaching out again, but use their email support@expensemonkey.io for your questions.

This is a young company that is off to a great start. They are actively building an app to suit their end users' needs by openly welcoming feedback and suggestions. So if you need an expense and receipt tracker, give it a try. If there's something specific you need, reach out to the team. Expense Monkey is definitely a good app that is only getting better!

Incorrect expenses

1. I've uploaded a couple of receipts that have the amount quite clearly in the attachment but they have been labelled as "0.00" and I am unsure why.
2. I asked for help in the webapp about this a week ago and didn't get any response.

Easy expense tracking with ExpenseMonkey: A Solopreneur's Review

I use ExpenseMonkey to track my business expenses.

I could do this with the business software I use for sales and accounting, but I don't want to have hundreds of entries with small amounts in the general ledger at the end of the year.

I like ExpenseMonkey's clear product focus and clean and simple interface. Both as a web solution and as a smartphone app. With the app, receipts can be photographed at the touch of a button and text recognition import is included.

I have no experience working in teams with ExpenseMonkey, but the product seems even better suited for this business case.

The software I use to track project time also allows me to track expenses, but it doesn't yet have the ability to import receipts. That's a big difference for me. It saves me from having to file dozens of cash and credit card receipts each year.

Of course I would like to have one system for all my use cases, but most often multiple systems provide a more in-depth approach.

You can sign in with your Google or Apple account, or with an email. An email link (not a password) is used to log in to ExpenseMonkey. Personally, I prefer a password, but an email link seems more secure (and somehow protects the software company in terms of the number of users).

What I would like to see in ExpenseMonkey in the future, in addition to a "Status" filter field and a "Reimbursed" tab, is the ability to download a ZIP file with the selected content (a CSV file of reimbursed entries plus any image files of receipts).

A CSV file download already exists. It would require an additional column in the CSV file with a link to the receipt image (within the ZIP folder structure) for each entry. Date filter (receipts from/to or year and optional month) and optional project filter. Reimbursed entries only.

The ZIP file would help comply with the requirement to keep tax records.
