A Useful Tool That Needs Refinement 🔄 but Has Room for Growth 🔧
Stella AI, while residing in WhatsApp, it certainly helps save time on drafting emails, scheduling meetings, and even turning voice into text. However, there’s many room left for refinement to make it a standout and reliable 24/7 productivity assistant 🎯.
What works well :
- Convenience of operating entirely within WhatsApp 📱.
- Time-saving features like calendar events, email drafting and reminders ⏱️.
- Integration with notion🇳 and major email/calendar Google and Outlook in process ☁️.
- Interaction in different languages 🌐.
- Scheduling links 🔗.
- Personal dashboard ☰.
- Security and Privacy. CASA II certified and SOC-II certification in process 🔐.
Why 2 tacos instead of 5 🌮🌮 ?
1️⃣ Room for More Organic Interactions :
- During command processing, the assistant sends needless messages like "On it!" or "Doing it right away…" instead of simply displaying the typing indicator 💬 to signify ongoing processing.
- Transcriptions appear inevitably after any voice message 🗣️ which is a pain and time-consuming. It would be more efficient to only show the transcription when explicitly requested by the user.
- The lack of WhatsApp buttons lowers usability. Predefined buttons (quick replies ↪️ and call-to-action ✅) are very intuitive for easy tap-to-confirm tasks like scheduling, sending email, calling, copy or launching app.
- Processing speed must be improved—currently, it feels slower than startup competitors 🐢.
- Enhancing web search (via Perplexity) and optimizing chat memory (using prior chat data, such as numbered-list results) will better serve users with more tailored and effective responses 🧠.
- Shared locations are not yet recognized by Stella AI, which would be very useful for accurately retrieving weather information and nearby places 🌎.
2️⃣ Many Key Features Missing :
- Cloud storage integration like GDrive, OneDrive, pCloud to retrieve, share and organize files 📂
- Multi-Calendar support to use any calendar in primary account and not just the main one 🗓️🔢.
- Send scheduled WhatsApp messages using the user's phone number (via Evolution API) 🎭.
- Call option for urgent reminder (Stella AI calls user at scheduled time) 🚨📞
- Picture recognition. Extract information from images/handwritten-notes and using it for tasks 📸
- AI OCR to identify text, tables, graphs and images in scanned documents 🔎
- Retrieve, analyze and compare data from one or multiple shared documents in the chat 📎📑.
- Email Organization. Ask to move emails to Spam, Archive or any folder ✉️⤵📁.
- Email attachment. Ask to have a shared picture or file attached to an email 📎✉️.
- AI writing detector (via top detection models like GPTZero or Copyleaks) 🕵🏻.
- Export AI chat answers/results in pdf, md, docx, xlsx formats 📤📄.
- Better meeting prep ✏️📅 (according to calendar/email history, web research and cloud files).
- Manage service/account integrations and chat history in dashboard ⚙️.
3️⃣ Overall, It Needs Polishing 🌟:
- General interaction and responsiveness is still far behind competitors. Actual product feels extremely beta and buggy which affects user engagement 🚧.
- It can be tricky to get tasks done correctly. Time to time, it gets stuck ⏳🥱.
- Bugs/inconsistencies recalled by other users.
Stella AI shows potential, and with some major updates, it has the opportunity to evolve into one of the most versatile and effective productivity assistants. Looking forward to new features coming down the roadmap! 🚀✨
