Warning: Lifetime Deal Turns Into a Subscription Trap!
I strongly advise against using this app and dealing with this provider. The "Lifetime Deal" is not worth the money if essential features suddenly disappear behind an additional paywall.
I purchased Followr in July 2024 as a Lifetime Deal (LTD) for $300 and was initially very impressed. Features like cross-platform social media tracking and automated content creation seemed perfectly tailored to my needs.
However, the disappointment hit hard shortly after. With the availability of better AI models (like GPT-4), the developers apparently saw a new opportunity to cash in. Despite having paid for a "Lifetime Deal", they are now suddenly demanding an additional €100 per year just to use an AI more current than GPT-3.5. Good Luck with GPT-3.5 in 2025. (In this moment you can only ose GPT 4o mini, claud 3 haiku and gemini 1.5 flash).
The option to use your own API keys or find any other customer-friendly solution is completely ignored. There's absolutely no effort to accommodate LTD users. Demanding recurring annual fees for a core feature after selling an expensive Lifetime Deal is absolutely outrageous and feels like a scam. As an early supporter, you feel completely disrespected and disregarded – like they are spitting in their customers' faces.

AI Pro Credits: Starting with Tier 9, we've made AI Pro credits for text generation available for free. These credits come from premium providers like Claude, DeepSeek, and some OpenAI models. The goal is to improve your workflow and give you access to more advanced AI models. We're now offering plenty of credits to gain access to premium AI models. Compare costs somwhere else and you'll see difference. LTD HERE.
Images: While we haven’t been able to extend the premium AI image credits across all tiers yet, we've listened to feedback and have integrated Canva, added a whitelabel dashboard, and greatly expanded our stock image library (including Pixabay, Pexels, Unsplash, Giphy). These resources don’t consume credits, giving you access to more content without extra charges.
BYOK (Bring Your Own Key): We’ve made sure all users — including LTD users — have access to BYOK, where you can integrate your own API keys. We’ve even created tutorials and guides in the Help Center to assist with this. We've made this last year.
I encourage you to revisit the review because we've made significant changes to address many of the concerns you raised. Followr is now a much more comprehensive tool, especially with the whitelabel option that allows you to resell and grow your client base. It's a software that's always evolving.
