Q: What are 'password-protected conversations'?

What are 'password-protected conversations' and exactly how do they work? Can a password be used as a 'unique identifier' to monitor credit usage for a coversation? I would surely be neat to have a way to track usage per conversation.

A: Hi there,
Thanks for the question and suggestion!

Password-protected conversations add an extra layer of access control to your shared chatbot. When enabled, anyone who opens the chat must first enter a password you’ve defined. This ensures only authorized users can start a conversation with the chatbot.

This feature is designed for one-time access control, rather than tracking. Passwords serve to gatekeep entry; they’re not tied to individual user sessions in a way that lets you distinguish one conversation from another.

If usage tracking is important in your context, let’s discuss which approach best fits your needs and get it set up in your Enterprise environment. Happy to dive into the details and options to track per-conversation credit usage!
