Disappointed & Confused — Not Ready for Serious Use

I genuinely wonder how Lunacal managed to get this many high reviews. After spending several hours trying to properly set it up, I feel compelled to write this—not out of frustration alone, but because I think others deserve to know the reality before investing their time and energy.

Let me break it down clearly:

🛠 Not Production-Ready
While the idea of Lunacal sounds great on paper, the actual execution is far from production-ready. It lacks the polish and dependability you'd expect from any scheduling platform claiming to be an alternative to leaders in the space.

⚠️ Critical Bugs & Flaws
A basic feature like setting your rate per hour and having it reflected in the booking total—doesn’t work as it should. Whether someone books one hour or ten, the system charges the same rate. This is a major flaw that makes the PayPal integration practically useless for professionals charging by the hour.

🎨 Poor UI Choices
The light mode feels outdated and unrefined, and there’s no way to customize the color scheme to match your brand. You're essentially forced into using dark themes, which might not suit every business or personal brand.

❌ Not Truly White-Labeled
This is a deal-breaker for me.

-Emails sent to users still show the Lunacal branding in the footer.
-Emails are sent from Lunacal’s domain, and there is no SMTP option to use your own domain.
-What’s the point of adding a custom domain if your clients still see Lunacal’s name everywhere?
-Every email sent to the end user is branded BY THIER LOGO!
-Even worse, the email formatting is a mess—everything is centered, unaligned, and feels amateurish. It doesn’t give a professional impression at all.

📄 Useless Embedded Sections
The option to add sections like Videos, About, FAQ, etc. to the booking page feels like unnecessary fluff. A scheduling app should streamline the booking process—not clutter it with distractions. These extras do more harm than good and derail the user journey.

📆 Booking Page Layout Is a Disaster
The booking page layout is extremely frustrating. Whether you align it left or center, the titles of your events are almost always truncated unless you keep them very short. This is simply not practical for many businesses where meeting types need descriptive names.

🕒 Custom Domain Setup Is a Chore
Unlike every other white-label tool on AppSumo, you can’t set up your custom domain yourself. You need to submit a form and wait for the Lunacal team to handle it. This creates an unnecessary bottleneck and delays your ability to go live.

🧭 Final Thoughts
If you’ve ever used cal.com, you’ll instantly notice how far behind Lunacal is in comparison. Cal.com is clean, intuitive, white-label friendly, and actually works out of the box.

Lunacal feels more like a prototype than a finished platform. I wouldn’t recommend it in its current state—especially not for anyone serious about using it in a professional or client-facing environment.

Verdict: Save your time. There are better, faster, and more polished tools out there.

Hey, I’m sorry Lunacal didn’t work out for you. Just to clarify - Most of the concerns you raised (like not wanting to add content, changing colors on scheduling page, etc.) are customizable within the product. People even create events with different durations and charge for it..

If you’re open to it, I’d love to personally walk you through the product and make sure you get the most out of it. Just drop me a note at founder@lunacal.ai

While we are not the best fit for everyone, and we'll keep improving based on users' feedback, it might be a little unfair to raise question on other reviews :)
