Can I run everything from the cloud by getting a small Windows VPS and doing it all from there? Would I need just one machine for that? How do you handle data security? Thanks!

Yes you can run everything from your own little cloud and you can use a Windows VPS (easier) or a Linux VPS with GNOME/Xfce (more power). We can share with you a list of good providers.
If you plan to use a VPS we suggest you take at least a 3 Machines/Devices License so that you can Design your automation projects on your Laptop/Desktop then run them on your VPS.
For security it will depend on how you setup your VPS but normally this is not discoverable in terms of IP address of your VPS and you can implement more security on your Remote Desktop access and SSH.
