Very disappointing experience with Marky
I recently purchased the Tier 2 lifetime deal for Marky expecting a stellar experience backed by numerous positive reviews. Unfortunately, my anticipation quickly turned into disappointment for several reasons that I feel potential buyers should be aware of.
First and foremost, as a French user aiming to create and post content in French, I was taken aback by Marky's apparent lack of support for the French language. The tool struggled significantly with semantic accuracy, rendering all generated posts nearly unusable without substantial manual corrections. For a platform that prides itself on automating social media content creation, this gap in linguistic capabilities is not only surprising but also highly inconvenient.
Additionally, I encountered a frustrating lack of variety in the images and memes provided by Marky. Despite the promise of diversifying content to engage audiences, I kept seeing the same visuals recycled over and over again. This repetition undermines the creativity and uniqueness that social media content demands, making it difficult to sustain audience interest and engagement.
Given these significant shortcomings, I have reached out to Marky's support team with two critical questions regarding their plans to enhance support for non-English posts and address the issue of repetitive imagery. Unfortunately, my inquiries have gone unanswered, leaving me with concerns about the platform's commitment to improvement and customer satisfaction.
In light of these experiences, I am compelled to request a full refund and advise potential buyers to consider these limitations carefully. While the concept of Marky is promising, its current execution falls short, particularly for non-English speakers and those seeking creative variety in their social media content.
Moreover, it's worth noting that Marky, like many other AI-powered applications, may only have a brief moment in the spotlight given the rapid advancements in large language models (LLMs) and the highly anticipated arrival of GPT-5. These developments are set to push the boundaries of AI capabilities and functionalities even further, likely rendering standalone tools like Marky obsolete. In a landscape that is evolving at an unprecedented pace, the limitations I've encountered with Marky only underscore the importance of choosing AI solutions that are not just innovative but also adaptable and forward-thinking.

May 9, 2024Hey Christophe! Thank you for your honest review. Please know that we are working to solve all issues as quickly as possible and committed to long term support of our customers. I am sorry you didn't have a great experience with the French support. I can assure you we have hundreds of French speakers using Marky daily for their posting needs. Unfortunately, I don't speak French so it's a little harder for me to "debug" the French semantics. But I am committed to figuring it out. With the help of some of my French customers like you, I am sure we can improve this support!
As for the recycled designs, did you find that you can choose new design buckets (we call them "themes") under the "branding" tab? Between all our themes, we have about 400 enabled designs at the moment but are adding more nearly weekly. We have a professional designer on staff working on these! I would be interested to hear what additional designs you might be requesting so we can roll them out in our next release?
As for the GPT-5, thank you for brining this up as it is a good point! However, I do believe the Marky has several key characteristics that give it a good hedge against advancements in "vanilla LLMs".
1) Context: We are getting good (and will continue to get better) at developing a database to understand you, your business, your value add and other contextual details that LLMs do not inherently focus on and know how to best use across marketing channels.
2) Trends: With that, we combine with the latest in research on what posts are going viral including textual, design, music and video trends that LLMs do not have access to (as these change every week).
3) Integrations: A large value add of Marky is that we integrate with all the major social media platforms
4) UX: While "vanilla LLMs" provide a chat interface that is useful for many things, especially information-type tasks, there are some things a chat interface can not provide. A few off the top of my head is the ability to see 30+ posts at once on a calendar view or open a visual editor.
Anyways, I'm sure counterpoints could be argued for any of those 4 value-adds that I listed there, but even Sam Altman said that the startups that are going to make the most impact are those that have fine-tuned solutions for particular markets (in this case social media Marketing).
As for our customer support, I'm sorry to hear that you didn't have a good experience with customer support. We work hard to have around the clock support. It's my #1 priority so not sure what happened that you got through the cracks but I'll personally make sure you are taken care of. Here is my personal email josiah@mymarky.ai. Please do reach out and I would love to address your concerns and get you a solution that you love!
