I've been looking for an alternative to gradually phase out my use of Zoom. MEETn does that and then some. It's fast and clear in HD and certainly provides all one could want in a video platform. It has the basics of HD video, recording, screen sharing, reactions, breakouts, passwords (or not) to enter Room or Events, virtual backgrounds, and more. There's good video tutorial walk throughs that answer many questions while also offering practical guidance. There's webinar and meeting styles where the settings can be customized to control mute attendees, screen share, etc. Basically 95% of the core of Zoom is here plus some added features.
✅ Streaming on other platforms is a clear and easy feature to implement
✅ Pre-Loading PPT or Keynotes presentations, videos, audio, images, PDFs, and documents within the widget area makes for easy sharing of these assets in live events.
✅ URL on exit or Call to Action dedicated button are awesome for selling or sharing directly within the platform versus dropping items in the chat for visitors.
✅ If branding is important to you, it is nice to have the room background branded with one's logo, background, or image of one's choosing.
❌ Depending upon how many people are in your MEETn, the background is fixed so some of the "Hollywood Squares" may cover up the logo. MEETn suggests using "step and repeat" logo as the background to mitigate this.
❌ Scheduling events if you're not using a "Room" takes some time to find, but it is there. A "room" is a fixed url custom branded to your choice. Therefore when logging in, you're forced into a room. However, once, in the room you can move to admin mode where from the hamburger menu > "Events & Recordings" a non-room event with a random url can be set up.

✅ You can set up different rooms for different needs via changing the settings. So if one Room is for webinars and another Room is for video conference calls you can set it and forget it.

❌ At this point, I don't see direct integrations with other SAS products for things such as booking or appointment calendars. Using Rooms, however, workaround a doable, but still workarounds.
✅ A one-time purchase versus dropping annual dollars on Zoom is no brainer.

In conclusion to this product review, switching from the familiarity of ZOOM to the new user interface of MEETn felt awkward to re-orient to a different user interface and placement. That's to be expected. I've decided that MEETn will be my go-to platform for trainings, webinars, and other group events. My next step will be to integrate it into my private video call appointments.
