Hi there, I use Oxygen Classic a lot. While I love the control, it has a couple of issues I battle with. I currently resolve these with a lot of fudging with the backend builder code and handling all CSS in stylesheets. For context, I'm obsessed with keeping my pages to under 50 kb/pageview. I'm curious if Microthemer might resolve some of these issues: * Oxygen's natural (comparatively minimal) bloat and unnecessary classes being loaded by default. It's possible to optimise and replace Oxygen.css, but not the part that ends up in universal.css. If your tool can replace that or at least create something optimisable, I'm sold. * Oxygen defaults to big > small media queries. Looks Microthemer can reverse that? On the other hand, what bloat might this add? Please be honest! Also... Will Oxygen 6 be supported, at least once it is out of beta?
Thanks for getting in touch. In answer to your questions.
- Microthemer doesn't remove CSS added by other tools like Oxygen. So it would not help with reducing the size of universal.css. - Microthemer only adds the CSS styles you create with it, and some JavaScript if you apply event based animations like inView. You can see what it adds if you visit the frontend as a non-logged...
Thanks! I think there's one other question, then - how do you manage universal vs. page-specific CSS? Page-specific CSS, right? And is it pre-minified in output files? I like to also mess around with preloading and so on. The asynchronous splitting sounds good - as long as there's clarity over how it's done and the ability to tweak it one way or another (even if that means custom functions.)
Draft CSS is not minified, published CSS is minified in the output files.

Q: Future AI pricing and BYOK option for Microthemer AI Assistant (currently in beta)?
Hi Sebastian,
first of all, thank you for building such an excellent tool – Microthemer is already proving extremely helpful in my workflow. I recently purchased the lifetime license and noticed that the new AI Assistant feature is currently in open beta and free to use.
I’d like to ask a quick question about the future roadmap of this AI feature:
Will there be a pricing model for the AI Assistant once the beta phase ends?
Will there be an option to bring your own key (BYOK), for example via OpenAI, Claude, or other providers?
I’m asking because I really enjoy working with Microthemer and might want to use it on more websites. Knowing your plans for the AI feature will help me decide whether to invest in additional LTDs.
Thanks again for your great work – and for any info you can share!
Thanks for your question and kind words. I'm really glad to hear that Microthemer has proved useful.
The AI feature is coming out of beta pretty soon. I will keep it free for a little while I collect feedback. After that, it will be a (cheap) top-up system rather than bring your own key (BYOK). There are 3 main reasons for this:
* BYOK is considered insecure. The key is stored...
thank you for the clear answer! That sounds very interesting - and of course I understand that AI usage should benefit Microthemer. To understand everything even better: Are the top-ups more like a recurring credit or one-time purchases where only the token consumption counts? And will there be a time limit for using the purchased tokens?
Most will be one-time credit purchases expiring after 1 year ($5-49 top-ups) or 2 years ($50+ top-ups). I may also add a monthly plan later, if it's requested by customers.
Cheers, Sebastian
Q: Contact form and Easter sale URL are not working properly.
Hi Sebastian,
This is just a friendly note about two issues I noticed today.
1. When I visited your website, I saw the "Easter sale now on" banner, which leads to an error page: 404! Page Not Found. ("https://themeover.com/pricing/") 2. When I tried to inform you about this via the Contact Themeover form, it didn’t work. The page displayed the error message "There was an error sending your message. Please try again in a moment." I tried several times, but unfortunately without success.
I hope this helps. Best regards, and Happy Easter :-)
Thank you so so much for bringing both of those issues to my attention, which I've now fixed. I updated the site recently and forgot that I had changed the URL structure on my development version of the site, which the live site isn't quite ready for. And the contact form issue was due to some changes I needed to make to keep pace with my SMTP provider, which just happened to come into...
Q: New Priorities and Unfulfilled Long-Awaited Features and Updates?
Hello,
I have a few pre-purchase questions. After testing Microthemer with Breakdance and other builders/plugins, I'm very interested in the unlimited LTD tier.
However, I've noticed limited progress on the roadmap over the past year, specifically regarding the features outlined in this article/video (meanwhile, it seems AI, Gutenberg, and other aspects have taken precedence, based on what I've read here and elsewhere). https://themeover.com/development-roadmap/
While I understand the increasing industry focus on AI and SaaS, my primary interest lies elsewhere, as I already have those capabilities in my tech stack if needed.
If I purchase today, can I expect the roadmap promises—particularly the non-AI updates like GSAP integration and other enhancements—to be addressed in the near future?
Thanks for your interest in using Microthemer with Breakdance.
I would hold off purchasing Microthemer for now if anticipation of GSAP is your main hope for it. It's is still planned, but will probably not be added in the next 12 months. Like you say, the AI CSS assistant and other features will take precedence this year.
Would motion.page or Greenshift fulfil your needs though?...
From what I've tested, it works well with Breakdance even though it's not officially highlighted, and also with plugins that are usually complicated to customize.
The tool can help me better understand CSS and improve my skills in this area. It's truly valuable, and I hope you'll continue enhancing it in the right direction.
Regarding animations, Motion.page looks promising but has no discount on the LTD currently. Despite its excellent reputation, it seems like a resource-heavy powerhouse limited to animations only. Greenshift offers appealing features too but would require changing my entire technical stack, and appears to be Gutenberg-oriented only.
In essence, no alternative seems to match Microthemer's universal on-the-fly editing capabilities, even in its current and perfectible state.
However, I find myself struggling with the panel customization. The workflow could be more fluid, modern and precise. Navigation between options can be confusing, and features like the undo/redo system can feel somewhat counterintuitive from my view.
Thanks for your detailed feedback. I did set up shallow integration with Breakdance a while back, meaning that CSS styles should sync across multiple browser tabs (if Breakdance is open in one tab and Microthemer in another). This is the same workflow as shown in the Divi video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ewHWMBwGFT0
Thanks, I really enjoyed the hot integration with Breakdance, then after trying the full sandbox and the free version again, I finally gave in for the last Tier. So here I am, a new unlimited microthemer waiting to micro and maybe well macro control the world! 😅
Many thanks for your question. My main focus recently has been on Asset loading optimisation, Gutenberg and AI integration. You can learn more about those features in the following videos:

The pro version's built-in animations and transitions might suffice for now, though I hope to see improvements in this area before too long. :)
Still weighing my options, but one thing's for sure: your plugin is a loving gem!
Cheers! Seb

I understand that motion.page costs a lot more than many LTD's here on AppSumo.
Thanks for your analysis of the options. If there is a particular application you think handles this well, let me know, I will take some notes!
