Takes some learning but worth the time you invest
Like all great tools, you've got to invest the time to learn how to use them properly. There are some great training videos and resources for Pin Generator, but you'll need some trial and error, too. In this instance, I think the time invested is really paying off.
Once I had grasped it and understood how the credits were being consumed, I had no hesitation in going back and getting the lifetime deal (at the time of writing, you can stack 3 codes for the lifetime deal and 3000 credits/month)—very much needed vs. 600/month if you want to scale across sites.
As they suggest, you can pump things out in bulk in no time at all, but your pins will look average. If you want something that looks a little more personalised and unique, take the time to make your branded templates look more original. So far, it's been taking me much longer than expected to work on each post, but creating in bulk; I have many months of pins now ready in the draft to drip out later.
The templates themselves are a little more fiddly to use and lack some design functionality and stock library options compared to designing in Canva, but the overall time savings of completing all steps within Pin Generator have been great.
The best part is that you don't have to attach the product to one URL. If you run multiple websites, you can create brand templates for each and allocate your credits each month however you wish.
I have fed back a few functional points to the Founder that would make a good tool even better. For example, making a few more choices from the Chrome extension before pins are generated, like choosing the brand template and quantity to generate. Also, it would be great if we could sort drafts better and manually adjust our schedule, not just rely on automation.
A few purchasers have commented on the credits. I fell for this initially, not realising that every AI click and download also used a credit. This is a user error; it is clearly stated, so do read the info carefully before you pump out a load of pins, and don't be overzealous at the start! Wait until you have multiple pins ready before setting your schedule, or you'll get too many of the same pumping out in one go.
You can save designs and return to schedule them later in another month so you're not immediately using all your credits, and use your own external AI tools for titles and captions to save on a few more credits.
Overall, it is a great innovative product that now firmly sits in my suite of tools I will use daily for running my blogging business.
