Unauthorized Auto-Renewal: A Deceptive Practice!

Hey, I didn't even set auto-renew or give permission for AppSumo to deduct $99 on my bank account today. This was done without my knowledge or consent, which is illegal—especially if the consumer has no awareness that this practice happens after buying a Plus membership once .

1. *I received no email my membership was expiring nor a reminder to renew my membership, and I always receive mailers from Appsumo*.
2. If I cancel today when it auto-renews, guess what? You lose all the benefits I paid for, including discounts and coupons.

Every one-year subscription I’ve purchased from businesses or SaaS products online clearly states auto-renewal upfront, asks for permission, and provides a toggle button or checkmark to choose whether to auto-renew as an option, yet Appsumo has no such option. Yet other tools/businesses, If you cancel membership with them, before the one-year ends, you still retain access to all the benefits I already paid for. Yet, AppSumo automatically deducts the money and then will likely claim it’s my fault if I complain, for not canceling before my membership expired. They offer no refunds if I decide I don't want the membership for a second year after auto-renewal, and if I cancel after the $99 has already been deducted, they remove all the benefits I paid for, even though those benefits should be valid for one year.

This is illegal practice. If they don’t change this, one day a customer or business will sue them in court. (P.s where are the T's &Cs on the Plus membership page? the answer is, there is none)

We have the auto-renewal information listed on our deal page ("Cancel anytime and you will not be charged for the following year"), and we also send reminder emails that your membership is about to renew.
