Q: need clarity on that distribution access - is it 100% included or extra cost?
If I buy 1 code, do I get "free" access to publish press releases directly to Business Insider, MarketWatch, Yahoo Finance, AP News, Bloomberg Terminals, Dow Jones Terminals, etc. — or is there an additional fee for this feature?
A: Hey there- You can create unlimited press releases and distribute them to unlimited journalists and publishers via the journalist database and publisher database. There are no costs for running your own campaigns and sending out releases that way and that's the way most people do it.
Additionally, you have access to wholesale pricing on press release distribution which is an add-on for users...
I’m wondering the same thing. I bought tier 2 thinking it was free distribution and haven’t tried it yet but it looks like it’s paid. I hope I’m wrong though.
You can do cheaper releases on many other sites but these are not actual press releases. It's just a bunch of low quality links that have no impact. The AppSumo comment area isn't long enough to actually provide a breakdown of the comparison between what we do and other services but please email me and I can send it to you, steve@pressranger.com
Okay. That's a bummer. I thought the PR distribution was part of the deal, not an extra paid thing. We've had success with simple PR for getting pickups. Do you offer something simple like that?
And again it's important to note that there's no requirement to use Wholesale press release distribution. You can run PR campaigns, respond to pitch requests, do podcast booking campaigns for yourself or your clients, and tons of other things without any extra fee.
I can add access to our Basic package that we sunsetted in March of this year which was $79/release. If you email me at steve@pressranger.com I can share more details, i would put it here but the character limit is too short
Q: Do we still have to pay, after?
Hello, Long time AppSumo user. I know what press releases are, and see the benefits, for some people, but I even never used them.
Newbie question: After we purchase Press Ranger do we have to pay anything extra to send out press releases or contract writers/media/journalists? We are thinking of getting 2 Codes at this deal price. Anything extra we need to know/pay for? We are in Canada.

I'm interested in your AppSumo deal but noticed a concerning discrepancy. The terms state: "Lifetime access to Press Ranger. All future Pro (Tier 1) or Pro+ (Tiers 2-10) Plan updates." Yet real-time pitch notifications—available on both Pro and Pro+ plans on your website—aren't included in lower AppSumo tiers.
When previously questioned, you responded it's "hard to include in every tier," which directly contradicts the deal terms promising all Pro/Pro+ updates to all tiers.
This raises serious questions about your commitment to AppSumo customers:
1. Why aren't real-time notifications available on all tiers when the deal terms explicitly promise all Pro/Pro+ features? 2. How will you honor these terms for future updates? 3. What assurance can you provide that AppSumo customers won't be treated as second-class users?
A: Hi there Good question. To give some context- this is our 3rd AppSumo campaign and we added Tiers 3-10 during the second one. During this campaign, we added new features to *all* tiers- not just the higher tier plans. There are too many features included in *all* tiers to properly list them all and this grows each week.
Some of the new features are only available on higher tiers. Per the text...
Q: I run a food retail store in Australia and looking to expand awareness for food tastings.
I run a food retail store in Australia and looking to expand awareness for food tastings and the development of our bar/cafe in Melbourne. Do you have access to Broadsheet or Foodie journalists in Australia to help expand our business?
A: Yes totally. Here's all food journalists in Australia: https://pressranger.com/journalists?userCategories=food-drink&userLanguages=english&userCountries=australia&hasLinkedin=false&hasTwitter=false&hasInstagram=false&hasFacebook=false&hasValidEmail=false
Can you explain what this means in practise? I see different tiers have different numbers of these but I can't find the information about what this actually does!
A: Yes of course. Journalists often send out pitch requests to find sources, quotes, and background information on a variety of topics and Press Ranger listens for these and surfaces them all in the platform. All tiers have access to see all of the pitch requests but only the higher tiers have the ability to set notifications based on keywords, sources, domain authority, etc.
So do the diff numbers on the tiers mean literally how many you can see or is it the number of keywords you can set? That’s really what my Q was - as it seems quite restrictive if you can only view eg 3 / month - could you explain this bit please. Thanks!
No- you can see all of them all of the time at https://pressranger.com/pitch-requests
The number on the tiers is how many keyword notifications can be set up. Ex if I have 3 pitch notifications, i can set up notifications for 3 different keywords and get unlimited emails about when they show up.

yes, you have to pay $300 or $400 extra "to be able to publish press releases at wholesale prices"
yes, you have to pay $300 or $400 extra "to be able to publish press releases at wholesale prices"
Those do not feel wholesale for only 400+ sites. You can send out 400+ for less than $50 on PeoplePerHour or Fiverr.
