Q: Api and external call

Hi, I have a few questions about how Release0 works with external tools and APIs:

1. Does Release0 come with built-in access to AI models (like OpenAI, Claude, etc.), or is it required to connect my own API key in order to use the AI agents? I’d prefer not to bring my own API and would like to use the platform as-is, with everything already integrated.

2. More specifically, is it possible to send an HTTP request from a third-party automation tool like ActivePieces to one of my agents inside Release0, and receive the agent’s response back to continue the flow inside ActivePieces?

A: Hi Luca,

Thanks for your questions, happy to clarify!
1. Built-in AI Models:
Yes, Release0 supports native integrations with several AI providers like OpenAI, Claude (Anthropic), Mistral, Groq, and others. However, at this time, you do need to connect your own API keys to use these models. We don’t bundle API access directly, so bringing your own keys is required for AI-powered agents, we believe that BYOK lets you choose the AI model that best fits your needs not locking you in to a model of our choosing
2. Calling Agents via External Tools (e.g., ActivePieces):
Yes, it’s possible. You can use Release0’s public agent links as endpoints and send user input via query parameters or embedded iframe setups. However, if you’re looking to receive back the full conversational response programmatically, you’d need to use custom webhook configurations inside Release0 in combination with your ActivePieces flow. While direct webhook reply isn’t yet natively supported, it’s a viable workaround to pass variables and responses through your automation stack

Let us know if you’d like a step-by-step on setting this up!

You can submit your suggestion of moving away from BYOK for a proprietary AI in our roadmap page and upvote it. https://release0.com/feature-request
