I purchased this tool to help my husband update his resume and had high hopes based on its promise of AI-powered ease and speed. While there are some genuinely helpful features, the experience has been mixed.

First, the hiccups:

I ran into a 403 error when trying to activate my account. An issue on their end, not AppSumo’s. To their credit, email support was incredibly fast and helpful.

Once that was resolved, I found the registration process a little misleading. It offers to let you register with a different email than the one used for purchase, but it actually doesn’t work unless you use the same email tied to your AppSumo account.

After registering, there’s no way to update your name, email, or even change your password in the account settings.

Uploading an existing resume didn’t work as expected; it failed to pull in any of the job history or skills, so I had to re-enter everything manually.

The “Report” feature has promise, but it’s not quite there yet. As another reviewer mentioned, it flags issues, offers AI-generated edits, and then proceeds to critique the copy it just suggested (e.g., calling out its own buzzwords or filler phrases). Worse, it sometimes invents accomplishments (“increased efficiency by 30%”) without context. You can manually tweak the AI output, but you can’t ask it for a new version or give it direction.

That said, there are things I liked. The templates are well-designed, and the feedback from the Report feature was genuinely useful. It gave me a solid starting point, even if we ended up using my best judgement or a different AI tool to refine the language.

I’m not planning to return it. For the price I paid, I think it’s worth keeping, and I see potential here if the developers continue improving the interface and AI behavior. But right now, it still feels like a work in progress.

I’ve really enjoyed using ResumeUp.AI. The interface is clean, intuitive, and clearly built with care. There’s a lot of functionality packed in already, and I can see even more possibilities as the platform evolves.

What really stood out was the fast and helpful email support — I had a question and got a response that actually solved my issue within hours. That level of responsiveness makes a big difference.

Overall, it’s a well-executed product with a promising future. Looking forward to seeing what new features get added next.

I found this app appealing because of its attractive price and the smooth, polished demo that showcased its user interface and experience. Some reviews didn't seem to make it shine, but I decided to pull the trigger.
I am an advanced user when it comes to SaaS and a beta tester, so my reviews are quite picky.
The onboarding was smooth and easy; just follow the steps, and everything will be super simple.
Crafting the CV based on my actual LinkedIn was again simple, smooth, and a rewarding experience.
I used their Chrome extension, which identified areas for improvement in my LinkedIn profile, and I made those changes right away.
The app doesn't have an agency plan to manage multiple CVs for client services, but it is planned for the future, as many users have requested it.
The other small bugs/issues I faced were minor and reported to Hareesh via the Intercom chat bubble and were noted.
I haven't tested the job tracker, but it already seems valuable with its polished templates, clean UI, and smooth experience.
It’s a steal for this price, and I’ll be sure to upgrade if they offer a reasonable tier to the AppSumo deal plan.

I was not able to download my resume as PDF after downloading it as docx, even when I selected PDF after that, it just downloaded the docx.

When editing the resume, the analysis told me the order of work experience is wrong, even though the tool set up the page itself, there was no apparent way to change this. I ended up manually creating everything in Word and jsut using this tool as a database with some AI suggestions on how to improve my resume.

The resume analysis tool kept flagging the changes the tool's AI made based on previous analysis.

Everything I did in this tool, could have been done faster and simpler by just using LinkedIn and any AI to help fill out the blanks and write / evaluate the result in the end.

I will be refunding this...

It would probably be better to have proper documentation on the dashboard instead of having to send me a Loom link here on how to do something as simple as rearranging entries.

The ResumeGPT messed up the order of work experience, and when I tried to get it to fix the problem it made, it deleted some entries and duplicated others, making the resume completely garbled. It was not able to retrieve the information again from my profile and kept asking me to add it again manually.

The exported docx was useless as well, it had loads of ASCII markups like this "  "

I am currently doing it in Word with ChatGPT assistance, no issues there so far. Thank you for your help, but it will be a refund from me.
