We optimize to protect deliverability reputation of both the senders (like you) and our tool. We've talked to the Google Anti-Spam team personally, and hearing the general trends and industry views on how emails arrive in spam... it's become clearer to us that we need to help our customers deliver.

When we notice emails are sent roughly 3x below industry standards, we automatically optimize emails to send to your BEST subscribers — contacts who have opened or clicked in the last 3 months.

This is a best practice that we do ourselves personally, and many of the best senders whose newsletters you subscribe to do as well.

Totally understand it may be frustrating at times, but our opinion is sending to your best subscribers and maintaining deliverability is better than having an entire domain blacklisted by Google because a sender is emailing cold or bad subscribers. This has actually happened, and it will continue happening based on what we heard from Google.

I wish we didn't have to do this, but we do it because to ensure deliverability. We'd love to send to all our subscribers too, but unfortunately Gmail and other inbox providers make the rules and we have to follow them.
