Q: Hello, I have a couple of questions...
Question 1. How does the double opt-in work? I am assuming that I can easily set up the following process...
1. User subscribes via a form
2. User email is listed as 'unsubscribed' in the sendfox software.
3. User gets an instruction on screen telling him/her to check their inbox, and click the link in the confirmation email.
(I use Thrive Leads, so I know that I can do points 1 and 3 using Thrive Leads.)
4. User goes to inbox, opens confirmation email (sent immediately) and then clicks on the confirmation link to subscribe to newsletter.
5. A thankyou message is displayed
6. Users email is then listed as 'subscribed' in the sendfox inbox.
Is this how sendfox double opt-in works?
Question 2. Immediately after the confirmation link is clicked by the new subscriber, is it possible for an automated email (i.e. the first ever newsletter) to be sent immediately? That is immediately, and not at a specified time, like 1 hour or 24 hours after subscription.
At the moment (using mailpoet) I do this and the first newsletter is automatically (and immediately) sent, which contains my welcome message and the promised link to my lead magnet. This way users are forced to open at least one newsletter in order to access the lead magnet.
Is the above sequence possible in Sendfox?
Thanks in advance...

May 15, 2024A: Hola, Sumo-ling! 🤠
Great technical questions. This is fun for me to answer.
We have a field in a subscriber's profile that shows "Confirmed" status as yes (if they confirmed directly from SendFox), no (if they did not confirm from SendFox), and Unknown (if they're imported or double opt-in was not enabled and we have no idea their state).
When double opt-in is enabled, let's say when someone signs up using the Thrive Leads integration, they'd be sent a double opt-in message to confirm. As soon as they confirm, they're marked as confirmed.
If you have an automation for that subscriber's list, they'll receive the automation message based on the timer you set AFTER they confirm. For example, if you have a timer of "0", they'd receive the automation message immediately after they confirm. Easy-peasy, lemon-squeezy.
And generally-speaking, yes. We have automation states so you can even send them a secondary automation sequence based on them taking a specific action (i.e. open) in your first automation sequence. We use this ourselves, for people who open a certain email getting a "bonus" email from a secondary automation.

Thankyou for your swift reply!
That's exactly the answer I was hoping for. Being able to send a welcome email/newsletter immediately after a double opt in is sooooo useful.
Thankyou.

super-useful answer here as well David...thx u.
Hello, if Beacon is used, how does it work since Beacon is also integrated with SendFox? For eg, someone fills up the Beacon's opt-in form in order to get the lead magnet.
Subscriber receives email to confirm the subscription first and the lead magnet is sent after the double opt-in process is completed OR is the double opt-in process not required to be completed for the subscriber to get his lead magnet? Do I make sense to you? >.<

Hey, callie.qyu! That's more of a question for the Beacon team most likely.
On the SendFox side, we do not send emails to your subscribers until AFTER they confirm their email address. Whether that's an automation or a campaign email, it's treated the same.
What Beacon does on their side is totally up to them, so they can help explain any help you need with their tool specifically I bet.
