Q: UK/EU Server Locations, GDPR Compliance, and Content Access
Hi
I'm interested in your offer, but data protection is important to me and my clients. Could you please confirm:
1. Do you have plans to deploy servers in the UK or EU so data stored with you would clearly fall under GDPR or UK GDPR protections?
2. Do you or your staff have any access to the actual content of files being transferred? If yes, do you use this content for internal purposes, such as improving your service, analytics, AI training, or other reasons? People are turning away from WeTransfer for this very reason.
Thanks!

Jul 17, 2025A: We totally get that data protection is a big deal, and we're happy to clear things up for you.
Server Locations & GDPR: We absolutely have plans to deploy servers in the EU (Frankfurt is what we're working on) While we can't give an exact date just yet (building out new infrastructure takes a little time and a lot of care!), it's a top priority for us to expand our global footprint to better serve our European clients and ensure GDPR/UK GDPR compliance. We're actively working on this and will announce updates as soon as they're available (We're almost there)
Content Access: This is a really important question, We take your privacy incredibly seriously. Your files are encrypted both in transit (using TLS) and at rest using AES 256-bit on our secure storage. Crucially, our systems and strict internal policies are designed so that Sinosend staff do not have access to the content of your files. Our core business is secure file transfer, not data mining or content access, and we're committed to upholding that. We do not mine for AI, nor have AI services.
