Skimming AI is more than an app for summarizing a video. It is a place you can gather links of websites, documents, images, and organize them into folders for context. Then I've been able to ask questions about the contents within the folder.

For example, I am able to put in the page links for various AppSumo tools I own and ask the folder how I can use them together!

I could see this being helpful in cases where I forget some of the features of tools I have access to or seeing how another tool might fit in.

I see this as being a super-tool for marketers and content creators researching a niche or competition, creating searchable swipe files in context, and for coming up with summaries, transcriptions, translations, and more.

Overall, the tool helps me with organization, productivity, and has so much potential I can't wait to dive in!

Support so far has been active daily, is fixing issues in a timely fashion, and the developer appears to have an awesome vision for the product with an open mind for suggestions.

There may be a few bumps and growth pains here, but I've seen that with every tool out there - even well beyond AppSumo.

At this point, I fully support Skimming AI and can't wait to see where it grows from here!

I can't recommend. The reason is gonna sound harsh but its true. If i buy a product to solve a problem and it can't do that, then its a fail. So i put in a youtuber's video link in skimming ai and i asked it did the youtuber say what the best platform was in the video. Skimming ai incorrectly told me that the youtuber didn't specify. I later listened to the full video and it turns out the YouTuber did indeed specify. I then put the same video link in perplexity ai and perplexity ai gave the correct info. I bought skimming because i didn't want to pay a subscription anymore for perplexity, but sadly skimming ai can't give the correct info all the time about a video. Because of this I can't trust it which is the main reason i bought it for. The team of skimming needs to fix their product. It's not ready for primetime.

Besides from the fact that this tool has not one single USP compared with other products, it isn't even close to a finished product. Unpleasant UI/UX and too many bugs.

I’ve really enjoyed using Skimming AI, it’s a very useful tool. So far, I’ve tested it with YouTube videos, and it works great. It processes videos quickly (about 30 seconds per 10 minutes of video), and then you can ask it to generate a summary or even ask questions about the video’s content.
It’s very easy to use, and you can choose the length of the response (short, medium, or long), which is a great feature. It also saves your explorations and allows you to organize them into folders, so you can review them individually or based on the full folder context.
Honestly, I’ve been positively surprised. Great job, congratulations to the team!

Update: I am now leveraging this tool to help me take a thin-content video-oriented website-in-the-making to a content powerhouse. I am running video URLs through it and getting detailed descriptions that far exceed what video makers produce on YouTube, for example. For long videos, I am capturing transcripts. The result is going from one- to three-sentence descriptions to hundreds and even thousands of words of content. This will be a game-changer for this website. Skimming AI is exceptional!

What a fantastic tool! You can input a YouTube video URL, and, a minute or two later, you get the full transcript and can ask questions to pull information quickly. You can do the same with website links, PDFs and much more.

I think Skimming AI is going to be a new sidekick for me in processing mounds of information quickly, especially with videos. I have founds speeds are taking longer, however, than the info nugget underneath the URL box: "Estimated wait: ~30 sec for 10-min videos, ~2.5 min for 45-min videos in English. Non-English processing may take longer." A number of 10-minute videos have taken a full minute.

I'm not taking off stars for this, but I had trouble getting YouTube video URLs to be recognized while using Skimming AI on Firefox on an iPad Mini this morning.
