Smart Clerk is the real deal, they are constantly improving the Pro Forma Accounting process to make sure that users' privacy is protected while still enabling us to have Pro Forma statements (right now just Income Statement but hopefully cashflow statement soon). I may have to lower my rating if they don't build in a way to automatically classify the transfers between your bank accounts as income, since for legal and real estate professions both, there is a need to have accounts which are considered Escrow or Client Funds, and currently it doesn't let you teach the ai, nor manually categorize, these transfers as income from clients. So there are some industries that can't use it yet but I think they will fix this asap.
edit: I had to update since the more recent reviewer mentioned privacy concerns and instead of assuaging them to absolve their concerns, assuring us the data is all private, the founder posted something here publicly which was surely supposed to be private about the commenter. Is that GDPR?? Anyway I will update my review later down the road again depending if we see consistent improvements in reliability and privacy. Not sure how attentive they are to the accuracy concerns of all these commenters who have the same issue that not only the ai cant do something, but currently it's not even manually possible to configure the right accounting for many things, and thus the whole software is useless as reports are (in my case, wildly) inaccurate. Need to solve the fundamentals of letting us configure Accurate accounting reports before getting the a.i. to try, I guess.
