The Swiss Army Knife of Business Software

Most business software is really just a database with some type of application-specific front-end. This is true for software in general and for many of the deals we see on AppSumo. in the short-term, it's often convenient to invest in these various products and deals because they help us solve an immediate problem. For example, I need a way to keep track of my customers and deals, so I invest in Plutio. I need to manage my projects, so I invest in Freedcamp. The problem is, you eventually end up with a dozen different products all performing different functions, but each with its own database and operating independent of the others. Sure, many of these products can exchange data with other products, either directly or through Zapier, but even with the integration, you still have to login to a separate dashboard for each product and many of the integrations are half baked. Ultimately, this piecemeal approach is not the optimal way to run a business.

The beauty of Stackby is it's a database you can configure however you like, for your specific business needs. So instead of using one product for your CRM, another for your project management, and yet another for your inventory management, you can do it all in one product with one dashboard and you can customize it to your exact specifications, adding only the fields you need for the information you need to manage. Yes, it takes more work initially to set this up, but once it's setup, you have something that can scale with your business, rather than having to abandon your old solution and start over from scratch every couple of years.

Stackby certainly did not invent the concept of a no-code database platform. Microsoft Access popularized this concept and has been around since 1992. For many people, even Access is too complicated, so they just use Excel worksheets as a makeshift database. As the web evolved, databases started moving online, so now there are products like Airtable and a million others like it. I haven't used Airtable extensively, but I did play around with it a bit. It seems like a fine product and it's inexpensive, but still, you're paying a monthly subscription. There's nothing wrong with monthly subscriptions, but with the Stackby LTD, you're getting pretty much everything that Airtable does, plus some unique features, like the ability to bring in live data via various APIs, for a one-time cost. For anyone who's running a business, this is really a no-brainer. Even if you can't think of a use for it today, it's worth investing in to have at your disposal as your business grows and you inevitably need a way to keep track of various types of information.
