Q: Clarification on StockTrader Studio's Unique Features vs. TipRanks Free Version; Product Direction
Hi! I wanted to know what additional features StockTrader offers compared to the free version of TipRanks. StockTrader delivers stock scores, whereas TipRanks provides ratings. Both provide financial data and charts. StockTrader offers a twelve-month forecast, and so does TipRanks. You have Charlie, and they have the AI Stock Analysis page with everything mentioned. You can also view some analyst profiles and their ratings in the free version of TipRanks. It’s good to have data from LSEG, but I notice the numbers and forecasts on TipRanks' free website are similar. The same applies to other tabs like news and statements. I just want to understand where your product is heading. What additional features (e.g. analyst details, ratings, etc.) are you planning to incorporate in future iterations? I'd love to see the roadmap. Thanks.

Jul 6, 2025A: Thank you for the the great question, you're clearly doing your research, and we really appreciate that. But there are a few key differences in both focus and functionality between the two products:
1. Transparency in Valuation
We don’t just give a stock score or a black-box rating. Our valuation model shows the assumptions between the calculations, and is fully customisable. You can see how Charlie arrives at an intrinsic value using a Discounted Earnings Model over 10 years, including assumptions on growth and terminal PE. You can change these inputs to run your own scenarios, something other platforms don’t allow.
2. Real-Time Calculations
Key metrics and ratios are calculated live when you load a stock, not once per day. This ensures that you always get the most up-to-date view, especially important right after earnings releases.
3. Depth of Financial Data
We offer up to 10 years of financial history, as well as two years of forward estimates for key line items (not just EPS), all sourced from LSEG, a premium institutional-grade provider. This includes full income statement, balance sheet, cash flow, and even product and geographic revenue segmentation where available. Please note that the quality of the Estimates is absolutely critical for an investor. We get ours from IBES, which is the most reliable source on the market, and rather expensive. Free tools instead rely on scraping publicly available information on the web, without checking the reliability of the sources. As a long-time value investor, I would never bet my money on those.
4. Custom Dashboards and Screeners
With a Tier 2 plan, you can build custom screeners and dashboards using hundreds of metrics and scores, tailored to your investing style. TipRanks screeners instead are quite basic, and they don't offer the ability to create custom dashboards.
5. Charlie’s Context Awareness
Unlike more generic AI tools, Charlie is fully aware of the financials, forecasts, and valuation data on each stock page, which enables much more relevant, model-aware responses.
