Q: What does this mean: Limited commercial license for website, social media and web ads (<50 employees)

tier 1 doesn't have it but Tier 2 does. Is it for people who want to resell the music? I'm a one person company who just wants to add good music to my videos for my sites and youtube. Would they be considered commercial? I own other music platforms but never had this type of dilemma. Thank you.

A: Hi there,

Below is a response from a previous question regarding commercial licenses—I hope this helps clarify things! If you have any further questions, feel free to reach out.

The Limited Commercial License is perfect for small businesses and freelancers creating web content for themselves or their clients. This is a single-user license.

✅ What It Covers:
This license is for smaller-scale commercial use online. It’s perfect for:

Small business content (companies with fewer than 50 employees)
Freelancers or agencies creating content for small business clients
Web and social media video (YouTube, Vimeo, Instagram, etc.)
YouTube monetization
Wedding or event videos
Digital ads (pre-roll, post-roll, Facebook, Instagram, etc.)

It’s a great fit for building a digital presence, running social campaigns, or producing branded content that lives online.

🚫 What It Does Not Cover:
This license does not cover broadcast-scale use cases or media created for enterprise clients (50+ employees). That includes:

TV, radio, or cable broadcasts
Video-on-demand platforms (Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime, etc.)
Mobile or console games, or mobile apps
Theatrical releases (film festivals, cinema, etc.)
Media created for Enterprise Clients (companies with over 50 employees)
Teams or shared accounts (this license is for single users only)

I hope this is helpful! Please let me know if you have any other questions.

So if I wanted to create videos to post online for my own business what is the purpose of tier 1 if I actually need the commercial license? Sorry still confused because most deals here for music have always come with a license to use at will. I really like your music line up but it looks like I can't use any of it if I post to youtube, facebook etc. I have to keep it to just my site with tier 1
