Q: Multiple single points of failure?

Would splitting the data across multiple storage providers where each piece of data is necessary result in several different single points of failure? If even one storage provider is down, we can’t access our passwords.

A: Hi goon-alike-defense,

That’s exactly why we care so much about redundancy.
We don’t just pick any storage provider; we intentionally use hyperscalers (like AWS, Azure, etc.) with built-in redundancy and high-availability guarantees. These services are designed to withstand multiple internal failures and still serve your data reliably.

At TransferChain, we prioritize file redundancy as a fundamental aspect of our data safety measures.

Here are some of the strategies we have implemented to ensure robust data redundancy in our distributed cloud architecture:

Distributed Cloud Architecture: By splitting each encrypted file across the world’s safest cloud providers we provide unparalleled security measures, and when combined with redundancy we not only minimize the risk of data loss, but also provide impregnable safety against attacks.

RAID: We utilize ‘Redundant array of independent disks’ configurations to increase system reliability, typically in the case of a backup or failover.

Load Balancing: With load balancing, we distribute workloads across multiple servers, ensuring no single server becomes a point of failure. If one of our servers goes down, the others can handle the extra load.

Data Integrity: For TransferChain, our blockchain network is the core part of our system that ensures data integrity, and metadata protection.

& more 🙂

We can also provide additional paid services, such as geographical distribution for our enterprise customers.

By combining these strategies, a distributed architecture can be designed to provide robust redundancy, minimizing the risk of data loss and ensuring system availability even in the face of failures.

Hope this helps 🙂
