🙏 Cons?
No Audio File Upload:
Users cannot import existing audio (e.g., MP3 files); only real-time voice recording is supported.
Short Recording Limit:
Each recording is capped at 15 minutes, making it unsuitable for longer content like podcasts.
Limited Tone & Style Variations:
Email rewrites show minimal difference beyond greetings; caption and content tone lacks variety and creativity.
Not Ideal for Podcasts:
Due to short recording time and lack of upload support, it’s not suitable for podcast transcription or scriptwriting.
Basic Content Organization:
No folders, search, or tagging features to manage recordings and outputs efficiently.

Promising start
It's not really fair to ask for a review after just a few days. With that caveat in mind, I would say that my initial experiences (language notes taken on the go, recording a 90-minute meeting with six speakers, and similar tasks) have been very positive. Letterly really offers much more than just transcripts. I still need to try out Letterly for dictating longer texts intended for publication, but I'm optimistic.

Edited Jun 6, 2025Hi Roy! Actually, the model we’re using does support Cantonese — would you mind trying to record again so we can double-check?
I just tested it with this sentence:
我經常看那些為小朋友而設的電視或YouTube影片
And it transcribed perfectly.
I admit we might be wrong and this isn’t Cantonese dialect because we don’t speak Chinese, but the model we use (Whisper from OpenAI) definitely states that Cantonese is...

Great Disability accessibility tool!
As someone with Parkinson’s and early onset dementia, this app has been a game changer for me. Typing has become laborious and tiring, so I had stopped writing my blog or answering emails. With Letterly I can dictate my thoughts and have them all transcribed perfectly. Then I can take them and send a message, email, Facebook post, or copy it into ChatGPT to help me polish it into a blog post. It’s like part of my brain has been given back to me!
