⭐ 1 Star – Extremely Frustrating Experience, Waste of Time and Effort!
I rarely leave reviews, but this issue has completely ruined multiple projects for me. I use this software mainly for screen recording with audio, but every single time I try to trim or split the video during editing, the entire video goes black. The audio continues to play, but the screen recording turns into a blank screen — no visuals at all.
This has happened consistently across multiple videos. After spending hours recording and editing, all my hard work goes down the drain. I tried restarting, re-recording, reinstalling — nothing helps. The software is simply not reliable for anyone serious about screen recording or video editing.
It’s incredibly frustrating and disappointing. I expected at least the basic functionality of video trimming to work properly, but this software has failed miserably. If your work depends on screen recordings, please stay away unless you want to lose hours of effort and end up with unusable footage.
Fix this bug or stop marketing it as a screen recorder/editor. Not recommended at all.

Do not record properly and Skipping frames
Hi,
We have purchased this in 2023 but it is not working properly when needed.
- It is skipping frames in the video at many places
- While saving it hangs mostly when long videos

Every time I complete my video recording and save it so I can edit the recording, the hourglass continues to spin. I have to close the app and try again. When I try to share it, the video does not cooperate, so I cannot send it. The app has not worked for me.

I've used a few screen recording solutions and was careful to get one that looked like it gave me all I needed for good tutorial production. ScreenToVideo does an excellent job with all the tools you could need. The short 'how to' videos on the website are also very helpful and get you going really quickly. While I am still learning, I am very impressed and pleased with the purchase and have already recorded, edited and produced some videos.
If I had any gripes, it would be that rendering is quite slow, and I haven't worked out how to change the default colour on call-out borders so it opens up with the colour I want rather than having to choose it all the time - which can lead to errors as you change the colour..
So, because it is so good with no restrictions on output size etc, I have given it a 5 rating, while because of the slow render especially, I would perhaps push it back to 4.5.
UPDATE: I missed an option to go from software rendering to hardware rendering! Once I selected hardware rendering, it rendered really fast... so this is definately a 5 rating. Really enjoying using it - and, because you can record just your webcam, I am even using it to do direct videos without screen recording when I turn the quality up to 100%. Great product.
